A Tuareg knife from Mali, located around the Adrar des Ifoghas mountains and likely sold out of the larger cities of Gao and Timbuktu by Tuareg craftsmen. The straight single- edged blade has a false edge for the last half of the blade's length. A thin groove extends to the sharp point. Engraved with a maker's stamp on each side near the base. Brass guard and bulbed pommel. Polymer hilt with linear cuts. Tooled red leather sheath with brass bands and an engraved chape having the traditional dyed green leather accent. Leather belt loop attached. A typical Tuareg craftsmanship belt knife from Mali.
