The single- edged narrow steel blade has a gradual curve with a ricasso as the base. There is an inlaid brass cartouche about a quarter of the blade's length inscribed with "Allah". Iron hilt with lobed triangular shaped quillions and a disc- shaped pommel. Sheath of wood covered by a hardened black leather with a long iron chape and bulbed finnial in Afghan influence. A good munitions quality battle tulwar with an interesting inscribed brass cartouche. 19th century Anglo- Indian period.
