A Berber koummya dagger of the Souss- Massa Region of Morocco. The single- edged steel blade is curved with a slight medial ridge along the center extending to the acute point. The blade becomes double- edged for approximately the last half the of the blade's length. A series of three faint acid etched unidentified stamps are present on the ricasso near the hilt on the back side.

The dark wooden hilt is decorated entirely in silver patterned scrolls with a silver capped lunate shaped peacock tail pommel. The sides and rear in brass with stippled designs.

Wooden interior sheath covered in silver decorated with silver scrolls consistent in the same manner as the hilt. The hilt and sheath collar displaying niello inlay. The brass back side in stippled and geometric designs. Two brass suspension rings having stamped stars hold an olive- green cotton baldric sash with knotted fringed ends. A very good quality koummya dagger from the Souss Region.
