A fine Burmese knife known as a dha hmyaung, of Shan craftsmanship from the historic region of Upper Burma. The upcurved single- edged plain steel blade of a heavy nature and thick spine. The blade has a small crack near the point. The elephant ivory hilt in cylindrical form connected with an octagonal silver mounted collar, and decorated in bands of silver filigree wire with a brass ring middle section. Wooden interior sheath encompassed with silver sheet, decorated in four bands of filigree work. The bottom of the sheath is covered in a brass sheet. A fine Burmese dha knife of ivory and silver fittings.
